Teaching procedures: Step1. Lead-in: talk about the plan for the coming holiday 1.The National Day is coming. We will have seven days off. Do you have any plans? 2. Many people will go on trips. Would you like to go on trips during the holiday? Where would you like to go? Why? (设计意图: 临近国庆,用国庆假期自然导入到如何度过,大多数人会去旅游,就会谈到景点和名胜。问题多请几位学生回答,加强互动,即使是说过的也没关系。) Step2. Presentation: welcome to the unit: different places of interest 1. Look at the pictures and review some places of interest they learnt before.(设计意图:复习学过的内容,让每个人都能发言的机会。) 2. What other places of interest do you know?(设计意图:让学生主动谈自己了解的景点。) 3. Friends like to share their experiences and feelings on Wechat or QQ. Photos, postcards and souvenirs can catch people’s eyes.(设计意图:利用共情,当今很多人会利用朋友圈来晒旅游经历,自然导入到明星片等分享方式。) 4. Amy and Simon got three postcards from their friends. Look through the postcards and get information to complete a table.(设计意图:给足学生阅读的时间,引导学生去探索。) 5. Enjoy pictures and videos about the three places of interest. At the same time, learn more about them. Talk about what to do and what to see there.(设计意图:利用照片和视频吸引学生去欣赏,引领学生去体验和感受。) 6. Before or after travelling, searching for the information about the places of interest is a good way to know more about them. In this way, we can know a lot about different cultures. 7. Amy and Simon are talking about a famous place of interest. Listen to the tape and complete a profile. 8. Read the dialogue and try to talk about another place of interest like the model dialogue.(设计意图:通过听、读、找,归纳把信息归类的方法。) Step3: discussion Why do so many people like travelling?(设计意图:探讨旅行的意义,激起学生的兴趣,也回归到学习的主题意义:teenage life) Step4: presentation: comic strip 1. Do you think Eddie and Hobo like travelling? 2. Look and say: What is Eddie going to do? 3. Listen and answer: What is Eddie going to do in face? 4. List some language points. Step5: Summary This lesson, we learnt more about some places of interest. Now, do you plan a day out during the National Day holiday? Where would you like to go?
